Mr. Paul Thomas, a pastor of a church in Udaipur, Rajasthan, is constructing his residence on the outskirts of the city. The architectural design for the residence is being led by Mr. Varun, a young architect based in Delhi.

The architect, Mr. Varun, has opted for Stabilised Rammed Earth walls for the construction of the residence. This sustainable building technique involves using locally available marble and stone dust, which not only minimizes environmental impact but also integrates regional materials into the structure.

Artisana, known for its expertise in sustainable construction practices, has been approached to support the execution of the Stabilised Rammed Earth walls. They are providing their specialized services to ensure the efficient implementation of this building technique.

Preliminary tests for the materials required for the Stabilised Rammed Earth walls have already been conducted. The agreement for the project is done by February 2024. Construction activities are scheduled to commence in April 2024, marking the beginning of the actual execution phase.

The choice of Stabilised Rammed Earth walls aligns with sustainable development principles by reducing carbon footprint and promoting local sourcing of construction materials. This approach not only enhances the thermal efficiency of the residence but also supports the local economy by utilizing indigenous resources.
