Hunnarshala conducted a study on rural houses in Jharkhand, aiming to understand traditional construction methods and influence the implementation of Indira Awas Yojna/Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna (PMAY). After extensive field visits, a workshop was held to propose housing designs that incorporate traditional technologies suited to the local context. Government officials, architects, and beneficiaries provided feedback on the draft report and guidelines. Hunnarshala compiled a comprehensive documentation and recommendations report based on the study and stakeholder input, which was submitted to the state government. The objective is to enhance the PMAY scheme by integrating traditional practices and addressing the housing needs of the rural poor.
