Foundation for Ecological Services – Adaptive Use

The Foundation for Ecological Security works on the revival and conservation of ten ecosystems of the country. Hunnarshala has designed and is implementing their central office in Anand. An old factory shed is being adapted to create an office space for 50-75 persons to work from. The design philosophy tries to respond to the climate such that minimal energy is used. The concept is to house a building within the factory shed to get insulation; the south wall has ventuaries to bring in the wind; the roof has a green covering and a false ceiling with ventilation above; pergolas on the east and west walls and uses rammed earth as walling.
